Dropping Charges in Court

Once legal proceedings are formalised it is out of the hands of the police and in the hands of the court, so it is practically impossible to drop any charges.

Any statement that is signed is done so under oath.

The most that could be done would be to present oneself before the judge on the day of the hearing and state that you would like to drop the charges. It is up to the judge’s discretion whether he agrees to the plea or not.

The judge could also subpoena you to present yourself before him and give evidence.
