Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau (GCAB) currently holding the Chair of Citizens Advice International (CAI) will be hosting an international conference and the Annual General Meeting of CAI here in Gibraltar this week.

This international conference is aimed to raise awareness of Equality and Discrimination issues.

CAI was formed to promote throughout the world, the provision by independent, non- governmental bodies of free, impartial and confidential advice and information to the public about their rights.
GCAB has been a key part of the local community since its inception in April 2003. The whole ethos of the service is about helping people, no matter who they are to exercise their rights and obtain fair treatment under the law and thereby improve their lives.

GCAB is committed to promote Equality and Diversity and prevent prejudice and discrimination ensuring equal access to advice and promoting good relations between all sectors of the community. The name for this conference is “Different People Make Our World”.

Our community is made up of different sorts of people, young, old, able-bodied, disabled, different nationalities and sexual orientations. All of them contribute to our society and economy as workers, customers, employers, clients and in many other ways. They all form part of Gibraltar’s vibrant community.

Equality, diversity, fairness are all about people, their contribution, needs and rights. People are our business, therefore promoting Equality and valuing Diversity is central to our work. Our work is free confidential, impartial, and independent and open to all the community that we serve here in Gibraltar.

The conference will be held on Thursday 12th November at the Caleta Palace Hotel conference room  from 9am to 5pm. Please note numbers are limited. If interested in attending contact GCAB at Tel 20040006, Fax 20040281, or email us.
